Community Involvement Top Priority for Rhino Shield Georgia

Wednesday, May 16th, 2018

Community involvement is top priority for us at Rhino Shield. We love our city, our state, and all of the outstanding charitable organizations in it! What better way to show our love, than through charitable donations to these amazing organizations.

SMILE 5k

A few weeks back we sponsored and participated in St. Mary’s Independent Living Extensions’ S.M.I.L.E. 5k race. Along with the support of Saint John Newman Catholic Church, the organization was able to host its eighth 5k race and one mile fun run at the Lilburn City Park and Greenway Trail. St. Mary’s Independent Living Extensions (SMILE) is a nonprofit organization that provides supported living services to developmentally disabled  adults in the community. SMILE’s 5k race was a huge success, and we had a blast being a part of it.

A success and sweaty 5k race for SMILE.

Big Heart Hustle

June 9th will be our second major 5k race of the year supporting Camp Big Heart at the Big Heart Hustle. Camp Big Heart is a summer camp focusing exclusively on providing a camping experience for special needs children and adults. The Inaugural Big Heart Hustle 5K takes off  Sunday, June 10th at 8:00am. The course, located entirely within beautiful Brook Run Park in Dunwoody, Georgia is runner and walker friendly. Post-race activities include music, food, vendors, and a variety of kid friendly activities. 100% of the event proceeds go to support Camp Big Heart, providing needed supplies, equipment, and scholarships for campers who would not otherwise be able to attend.

Head over to the Camp Big Heart website for more information or to sign up for the big day! We can’t wait to see you all there. It is a wonderful cause for the community. Don’t miss out. And don’t forget to head to our Main Page to find more information on Rhino Shield and all of our great products.

Special Olympics Send Thanks

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2016

The Special Olympics is a global organization that prides itself on being the world’s largest sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities. Each year the organization raises countless amounts of money to bring hope, strength, confidence, and success to those with intellectual disabilities. Although the organization is run on a global level, it has locally run branches as well.

This year Rhino Shield donated to Special Olympics Georgia, and became a Finish Line Sponsor for the 2016 Duck Pluck, which will be held August 12 of this year at Post Chastain Apartments on Roswell Road in Georgia . Through our donation, we were able to cover in full the expenses required for thirteen athletes to attend a weekend-long States Game competition sometime in the near future.

In the letter we received from Special Olympics Georgia, it said, “Elena, a Special Olympics athlete expressed the importance of Special Olympics Georgia by saying, ‘Without Special Olympics, I wouldn’t be as healthy or as active as I am. Special Olympics Georgia gives me the opportunity to do what I love to do- rhythmic gymnastics. I get to be around people just like me, compete with them, and become friends with them. Special Olympics Georgia has helped me to become more confident and not be afraid to try things, and it has helped make me the person I am today.'”

We are so excited and honored to donate to an organization who does so much good for their community, and makes the dreams of so many come true. We may have received a thank you from them, but we’re the ones who are thankful.
