Giving Back

At the start of the new year, we here at Rhino Shield talked about how giving back to local charities was a part of our New Year’s Resolution. And we’re sticking to it! One of our favorite local charities is the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. And although it’s a Catholic-based organization, volunteers don’t have to be Catholic to take part!According the Society’s web page, “members of the Society of St.Vincent de Paul (or “Vincentians” ) are men and women who strive to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to individuals in need.

We are young and old. Our members come in every shade of skin color. Some of us are wealthy, some are financially poor, but all of us are blessed with an awareness that our blessings (time, talent or treasure) are to be shared with our brothers and sisters in need.”One Saturday out of each month, Rhino Shield employees volunteer their time at the St. Vincent de Paul Society, giving back to those in need. You can too! All you have to do is visit their website to find out how to volunteer, or donate to your local St. Vincent de Paul Society. They have drop off locations and thrift stores all across the United States. Simply shopping at a thrift store near you, can help those in your community get back on their feet.

The Saint Vincent de Paul Society has raised millions of dollars, with volunteers donating over ten million hours of community service to those in need. We’re proud to be a part of such an outstanding organization! What charity’s are your favorite? Because this one is one of ours.
