Ceramic Coating For Tennessee Log Cabins And Cedar Homes

Monday, June 22nd, 2015

Among the beautiful mountains of Tennessee are dwellings that present a special challenge for our Tennessee affiliate: log cabins and cedar homes. Ernie Jones of the Knoxville office explains that these porous wood sidings rapidly become weather-worn and faded. They must be re-stained approximately every three years. However, with Rhino Shield ceramic coating, he says, “It’s one and done.”

If you were to use standard acrylic paint on such a surface, he explains, it would peel off because of the oils and chemicals used to pre-treat the wood, plus countless applications of stain treatments. But the Rhino Shield process starts with pressure washing and an extra step to seal in those oils and chemicals.

Your Rhino Shield professionals can also make repairs to the siding before applying our special adhesive primer. This primer is a double-binding adhesive, adhering tightly to the wood as well as binding permanently to the ceramic coating top layer that is applied as a final step.

Regular paint would come right off, Jones says, but Rhino Shield is a permanent solution. It comes with a 25 year warranty, but Jones remarks confidently that the coating could really last as long as 40 years. It’s a permanent solution to the mountain home owner’s ‘every-three-years’ headache.

Our Rhino Shield office in Knoxville serves all of east Tennessee, including Chattanooga. They are also part of the Tennessee Self Storage Association, providing near-permanent ceramic coating solutions for the area’s metal storage units, which are high maintenance buildings. But not to worry – Rhino Shield does the job like a champ.

Rhino Shield Ceramic Paint Protects Southern Homes

Friday, March 27th, 2015

knoxville Whether you live in Knoxville, Tennessee, Atlanta or Savannah, Georgia, or Hilton Head, South Carolina, when you need painting contractors for your residence, we have you protected with the very best exterior ceramic paint for your treasured home.

Rhino Shield ceramic paint is versatile enough to manage the extremes of weather that are experienced throughout these areas without cracking, peeling or fading. It consists of durable reflective ceramic beads, elastomeric (bendable) sealers, microbicides, algaecides and fungicides that fend off the sun’s harsh rays in Atlanta, endure high winds and stormy tropical weather in Savannah and Hilton Head, and yet also can gallantly stand up to snow and wood rot that occurs in the humid mountain regions of Knoxville, Asheville and Chattanooga.

Rhino Shield ceramic paint beats out Sherwin Williams and Turtle Coat for better protection of your home investment wherever you live. It can be used on almost any surface – from wood to Hardy Plank to metal – for complete protection from the elements.

With the dramatic summer thunder and lightning that occurs in mountainous regions such as Knoxville and Asheville, it is important to know that Rhino Shield is also Class ‘A’ fire rated. That means it has received the highest rating possible by an independent lab in accordance with U.S. Building Code standards. In short, flames do not spread quickly. Rhino Shield ceramic paint has a rating 0-25 on the Flame Spread Index (with asbestos rating 0 and redwood rating 100) to give your home the most fire protective coating possible.

We have a large territory to cover, but with five offices throughout the Southern states, we can have a team of professional painting contractors come out to weather-protect your house in a short time. Go to the About Us tab on our website and scroll down to Service Areas to see a map and find the office closest to you.
