Tell Us What You Think

benefitsWe’re excited to be winning advertising awards and to be gaining community recognition. But our greatest reward is the satisfaction of our customers for a job well done.

We’d like to hear from you. What can we do to help you make the decision to invest in our Rhino Shield ceramic coating instead of acrylic paint or vinyl siding for your house siding options?

Rhino Shield comes with a 25 year warranty. Normally, regular acrylic paint must be applied every three to five years. So Rhino Shield is well worth the investment when you are looking at house siding options. You never paint again!

First we pressure wash your home and make repairs to the substrate, followed by taping windows and trim, and putting protective sheeting over the plants. Then we apply a primer sealer coating that blocks UV rays, protects against water, and has anti-mold and mildew ingredients.

After this dries properly, we apply the color coat of Rhino Shield ceramic coating, which is made of tiny microbeads. These microbeads help protect your house siding from hot sun, wind and rain, and cold weather. It also has elastomeric properties — that means the coating is pliable, able to bend, expand and contract as the house settles over the years and as weathering causes siding to expand and contract.

‘Feel-Good’ House Siding

Saturday, October 31st, 2015

dry-rotAnother happy customer writes about our recent Rhino Shield house siding application:

“Dear Roxanne and Michelle,  Thank you so much for your help and patience! Everything looks great and it feels good to have this taken care of.  God Bless, K.S.”

A home is your most cherished possession. Weathering, expansion and contraction and settling, and even mold and mildew, rot and rust can weaken its exterior shell, leaving the home’s structure vulnerable to decay.  But like K.S., you can have peace of mind for years to come with a house siding application of durable, elastomeric Rhino Shield ceramic coating. It creates a tough yet beautiful barrier to all those outside elements. You’ll “have this taken care of” for at least 25 years – guaranteed. Now that’s something to feel good about.

When Is It Time To Repaint House Siding?

Sunday, July 12th, 2015

house-with-hardiplankWhen do you think it’s time to repaint your house siding?

The standard answer you’ll hear is “every 5 to 15 years” but that is a wide and optimistic margin. Consider some variables:

What climate do you live in? If you reside in a coastal area such as Savannah GA, your home will weather quickly from salt-sea air, semitropical heat and some violent storms with high winds. An average acrylic paint would protect your house siding for only a short few years. Repainting every three to five years is not unusual.

If you live in the mountains, ice and snow can ruin an exterior finish almost as quickly as coastal weather. Regions of north Georgia and Tennessee are also notorious for extremes of winter cold and then summer heat. This causes standard acrylic paints to continually shrink and expand. The acrylic paints don’t have the elasticity to do that without cracking.

Another factor to consider is the composition of the exterior substrate.  Log cabins must be repainted or stained every three years to seal and protect the wood. And stucco cracks easily, requiring repainting more often than brick or Hardi-plank. Stucco tends to require repainting every six years.

How old is the home? The house siding may have many coats of old paint that make it appear ‘lumpy and bumpy.’ The oldest layers have long ago lost their elasticity and adherence to the substrate. They have broken down into pieces that flake or peel off, leaving the home vulnerable to weathering and mold. If you have a home like this, the time to repaint is now!

In fact, any time you see signs of cracking, peeling or flaking, the time to repaint your house siding is now.

This time choose Rhino Shield ceramic coating for 25 years of protection. The ceramic micro-particles bond more strongly to the substrate, they go on thicker and protect better, and they have an elastomeric property that allows them to expand and contract with extremes of weather. You can’t go wrong with Rhino Shield. Call Georgia Coatings at 877-678-2054 to get more details.
