Hilton Head, We Love You!

Wednesday, December 6th, 2017

Hilton Head is one of the most beautiful beach towns on the East Coast. It’s also one of America’s favorite islands. With long stretches of beautiful beaches, 24 golf courses, and tons of fascinating history, Hilton Head Island is a go to for vacationers all across the United States. It’s also home to over 40,000 people. That means thousands of homes are in need of durable, low maintenance coatings for their exteriors. Rhino Shield has the perfect solution!

Weather your home is stucco, cedar, hardiplank, or vinyl, our exterior coating will make your home look vibrant and fresh for the next 25 years! We even coat tabby shell stucco, a siding very common in the Hilton Head area (it’s to die for by the way).

If you’re a Hilton Head resident in need of a new coating for your home, we have just what you need! Our coating will keep your coastal home looking fresh for the next twenty five years, protecting it from not only the salt air, but the constant, powerful UV rays of the summer sun, as well as the moisture that comes from the surrounding ocean waters.

There are many factors that contribute to the gradual deterioration of a home’s exterior. These include the ultra-violet rays of the sun, humidity, mildew and fungi growth, as well as airborne salt and pollution. When your home is located on or near the beach, deterioration can occur 5-10 times faster than it would anywhere else.

At Rhino Shield, we offer our Rhino Shield Coating that has several advantages over other exterior paint brands currently on the market. Rhino Shield paint protects your home and helps it stay looking brand new for up to 25 years. Our coating has a Class A fire rating, resists UV light, air pollution, mildew, and lowers the rate of corrosion caused from salt air moisture that occurs as a result of coastal weather conditions.

Rhino Shield can adhere to all common exterior surfaces and reflect over 90% of the sun’s rays. And as most of you coastal homeowners know, the sun near the ocean is powerful all year around. Rhino Shield is also environmentally friendly (low-VOC) and non-toxic. It even has a ceramic base which means it will never chip or flake like other paint products tend to do.

If your a salt life fanatic, a beach bum, a Hilton Head resident, or property owner in the coastal area, we understand that the weather can wreak havoc on your beach home’s exterior. Salt damage is a constant concern for coastal homeowners. Our exterior paint will help protect your home as well as your investment for the next twenty five years. Give us a call today! We’ll be happy to help. And head over to Rhino Shield California for more information on the salty air.

Coastal Charm Draws Summer Vacationers

Friday, April 15th, 2016

Summer is fast approaching, and we can’t get enough of our beach styled homes along the coast of South Carolina and Georgia. Their transformations are absolutely incredible, and it’s been amazing to be a part of the process. We’ve seen a distressed house, revamped into a brand new home. We’ve used whites, creams, and coastal pastels to make properties look twice as big. We’ve even spruced up a few darker homes with brighter, more exotic colors helping restore energy and curb appeal to their exterior.

One of our favorites is this beachy blue bungalow, and although the color remained similar to its original, the new, fresh coat gave this home the pop of color it desperately needed to stand out amongst its neighbors! It’s easy on the eyes, and brings comfort to a home that had taken a hit from the surrounding salt air over the years. Our coating will keep this beauty looking fresh for the next twenty five years, protecting it from not only the salt air, but the constant, powerful UV rays of the summer sun, and moisture that comes from the surrounding ocean waters.

This Savannah home was originally painted a rustic orange/peach color that gave it a more Spanish feel, lacking the classic qualities of the surrounding location.  Out of place amongst its neighbors, the owners decided it was time for a change. The new pastel color brings this home back to its roots, restoring its southern coastal charm, and making it look twice as big as it did previously. With Rhino Shield’s coating, it is sure to withstand any mold and mildew issues it may have encountered before. We think this place would make for a gorgeous Bed & Breakfast! Now if only we could convince the owner…

We also are in love with this quaint coastal cottage. Filled with history, and charm, this beauty was simply in need of a fresh coat of paint, something that would last longer and protect it from the mold and mildew that come along with being near the water. We were happy to provide it with just that! Our coating made this stark white home look fresh and new, while protecting it from sun damage, and moist air. This home has a ton of character and we loved restoring it’s exterior, and bringing it back to life.

Weather you have a taste for bright exotic colors, or soft pastels, Rhino Shield will bring you an end product that highlights the sweet southern charm of any coastal home from Hilton Head, South Carolina to Savannah, Georgia, all while protecting it’s exterior from all the things that come with being on the coast. No ordinary paint can promise that! We’re looking forward to the summer, and are excited to work with you on your coastal home!

Protect Your Coastal Home with Ceramic Insulating Paint

Saturday, May 9th, 2015

summerrain In the Low Country of the coastal plains near our Rhino Shield exterior painting contractors offices in Savannah and Brunswick, Georgia, and Bluffton and Hilton Head, South Carolina, homeowners are getting ready for another hot, humid summer with almost daily afternoon showers and occasional tropical storms.

Now is the best time to go ahead and weatherize your coastal home before the season is completely underway, with ceramic insulating paint expertly applied by Rhino Shield exterior painting contractors.

Our teams carefully inspect your home and repair current damage before applying a thick primer sealer, followed by a beautiful coat of Rhino Shield ceramic insulating paint. It only takes 3 to 5 days to get your home in top condition, and we back our work with a 25 year transferable warranty.

Rhino Shield ceramic insulating paint:
*Is essentially waterproof because it is ceramic
*Is resistant to mold and mildew, with special antimicrobial and anti-fungal ingredients
*Has a Low-E rating, with a coating that reflects heat off the house for lower A/C bills.
*Is designed especially for coastal areas. It has the paint industry’s highest salt tolerance.
*Has ceramic microbeads that stack together tightly to create a more weatherproof finish
*Is 8 to 10 times thicker than average paint, creating a more weather-protective barrier for your home
*Has one of the industry’s best fire ratings. In case of a lightning strike, flames spread slowly.
*Is still vapor permeable, allowing moisture buildup inside the house to escape.

These April Showers Drench Your Home Exterior

Friday, April 17th, 2015

dry-rot If you live anywhere in the Southeast, from Asheville to Knoxville, Chattanooga, Atlanta and Savannah or Hilton Head, you’ve been drenched by rain for weeks on end. April Showers ad infinitum.

If your home’s exterior paint siding is old, chances are the finish is cracked and has allowed the intrusion of copious amounts of rainwater by now. Your paint will peel — but not before allowing seepage into the the exterior substrate materials, causing wood to swell, warp and rot, or to rust if it is certain kinds of metal.

In addition, these overcast skies and chronic rain are the perfect breeding ground for mildew and algae growth. Siding is probably beginning to grow green or black casts.

Before your home gets any worse, now is the time to have our residential painting contractors put a halt to the damage and weatherize your home’s exterior paint siding for a good 25 years with Rhino Shield ceramic coating. Here’s why:

1. Rhino Shield’s small ceramic microspheres roll together tightly to form a more rain-proof barrier.
2. Because these are not flat ‘flakes’ such as standard acrylic home exterior paint, Rhino Shield applies up to eight times thicker, for sturdier protection against the elements.
3. Rhino Shield comes with mildewcides, algaecides and fungicides built right into the coating emulsion, providing full protection for every square inch of your home’s coated exterior, not just the finished surface.
4. Rhino Shield’s transferable warranty guarantees that this new exterior paint siding will not crack or peel for 25 years.

Now would be a good time to call us for a free home estimate.

knoxville Whether you live in Knoxville, Tennessee, Atlanta or Savannah, Georgia, or Hilton Head, South Carolina, when you need painting contractors for your residence, we have you protected with the very best exterior ceramic paint for your treasured home.

Rhino Shield ceramic paint is versatile enough to manage the extremes of weather that are experienced throughout these areas without cracking, peeling or fading. It consists of durable reflective ceramic beads, elastomeric (bendable) sealers, microbicides, algaecides and fungicides that fend off the sun’s harsh rays in Atlanta, endure high winds and stormy tropical weather in Savannah and Hilton Head, and yet also can gallantly stand up to snow and wood rot that occurs in the humid mountain regions of Knoxville, Asheville and Chattanooga.

Rhino Shield ceramic paint beats out Sherwin Williams and Turtle Coat for better protection of your home investment wherever you live. It can be used on almost any surface – from wood to Hardy Plank to metal – for complete protection from the elements.
