With some 1500 shades of exterior paint to choose from, it may be a delightful challenge to plan your Rhino Shield makeover. Do you want your home to stand out as a masterpiece, blend peacfully into its surroundings, or perhaps match its original tones if it is a heritage home? Not to worry. We have specialists who can help.

Georgia Coatings Owner Roxanne Ecklund explains:

“When there is a problem with color choices, they [clients] can get assistance from a decorator, or I can assist in guiding them in how to look at colors. But hiring a decorator will give them guidance as well.

“There are many factors to work with and look at, from roof color to trees around the house that will play on color. If they have brick, they may want to play off the color of the mortar in the brick. That is usually a good starting point.

“If they have stone, then picking a color in the stone they would like to accent, whether it be a gray color on a redddish brown color —  choosing one color to pull out is a good place to start.

“Getting color samples from any paint store is acceptable. We can match any color to about 95%.  All exterior paint stores use different colorants and that will affect how our color comes out as well.”

Once you choose your main exterior paint, it’s time to create a color scheme using accent colors for doors, trim and shutters.

The most important rule here is to stay within a palette of either cool tones or warm tones. Cool tones have a blue or steel gray base color; warm tones have a yellowish base. That doesn’t mean, for example, that if you pick warm tones, you are limited to red/brown/orange/yellow. Look very closely at blues, greens and whites. You’ll see that some are kind of yellowish. They will look fine in combination with the above.

Rhino Shield Stands Up To Coastal Weather

Saturday, September 26th, 2015

floridastorm    People tend to joke that Savannah, Georgia, has only two seasons: warm and hot as Hades. But the third is hurricane season.  From about June through November oceanic tropical disturbances pelt Savannah and the coastline with torrential rains and strong winds. Yet Rhino Shield residential exterior paint can stand up to it all. Why? Rhino Shield exterior ceramic paint was developed in Florida specifically to battle the extremes of a coastal climate — moist heat, wind and rain, plus salt blistering and sand abrasion. See our  12 Reasons to Have Rhino Shield page on our website to learn more about independent test results. The hurricane season will be letting up soon, making the coming cooler, drier days the very best time of year to paint and protect your coastal home. Call Georgia Coatings to schedule a Rhino Shield exterior paint protection application plan for your home.  Brunswick and Savannah, GA residents along with Hilton Head, SC residents, call us at 1-912-335-6600 or 1-843-476-487.
