Rhino Shield Participating in the Duck Pluck

Wednesday, July 12th, 2017

Each year, the Special Olympics Georgia hosts their Annual Duck Pluck event, raising money to support their 27,115 Special Olympic Athletes all across the gorgeous Peach State. For the last four years, it’s been an honor and privilege for us to both sponsor and participate in an event that helps so many amazing individuals accomplish their goals of becoming an Olympic Athlete.

This year the event will take place August 11th at 1:00pm at Post Chastain. Funds from the event provide athletes with meals and housing during the State Games. The Special Olympics Georgia has currently raised $6,546 out of their $10,000 goal with several outstanding prizes including two round trip tickets on Spirit Airlines, a two night stay at the King & Prince Beach and Golf Resort in Saint Simons Island, a Dell Laptop Computer, a $400 Visa Gift Card, a YETI 35 Cooler and Tumbler and a $250 Macy’s Gift Card. In addition, for each duck you adopt, you will receive an equal amount of entries in a monthly drawing for a $25 American Express gift card through the month of August.

We encourage all of our employees and clients to help the Special Olympics Georgia reach their goal by adopting a duck today. A small donation of just $5.00 will provide one meal for one athlete at the State Games. For your $5.00 donation, you will be able to adopt one duck. The more ducks you adopt, the more meals you provide AND the more chances you have to win one of the awesome prizes listed above.

We couldn’t be more proud to be a part of such an amazing organization, an exciting event, and a place where dreams come true every single day. Head over to www.duckrace.com/atlanta for more information on their August 11th event. We ask and encourage each of you to adopt your duck today!

Military Appreciation Day

Wednesday, April 26th, 2017

Here at Rhino Shield, we love all of our members of the United States Armed Forces. From the Army and Marine Corps, to the Navy, Air Force, and National Guard, we are happy to support all those who serve and have served this amazing country. When our clients do the same, we can’t help but share!

This year on May 20th, the great City of Walthourville will be hosting their 8th Annual Military Appreciation Day Celebration. Beginning at 9am, Military Appreciation Day will kick off at City Hall with a parade to Johnnie Frazier Park. Food, fun, and several different activities will follow throughout the day.

We invite all of our Georgia clients, past and present, especially those in the Richmond Hill, Savannah, Hinesville, and Midway areas, to stop by the City of Walthourville for this fun filled, celebratory day. And while you’re there, check out City Hall located at 222 Busbee Road next to the Volunteer Fire Department, coated by yours truly!

Rhino Shield is happy to support our military, their families, and our clients who serve or have served. To all the active duty and veterans out there, you can never be celebrated enough. We are forever thankful for your service and sacrifice! We hope to see each and every one of you on May 2oth!

Giving Back

Wednesday, March 29th, 2017

At the start of the new year, we here at Rhino Shield talked about how giving back to local charities was a part of our New Year’s Resolution. And we’re sticking to it! One of our favorite local charities is the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. And although it’s a Catholic-based organization, volunteers don’t have to be Catholic to take part!

According the Society’s web page, “members of the Society of St.Vincent de Paul (or “Vincentians” ) are men and women who strive to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to individuals in need. We are young and old. Our members come in every shade of skin color. Some of us are wealthy, some are financially poor, but all of us are blessed with an awareness that our blessings (time, talent or treasure) are to be shared with our brothers and sisters in need.”

One Saturday out of each month, Rhino Shield employees volunteer their time at the St. Vincent de Paul Society, giving back to those in need. You can too! All you have to do is visit their website to find out how to volunteer, or donate to your local St. Vincent de Paul Society. They have drop off locations and thrift stores all across the United States. Simply shopping at a thrift store near you, can help those in your community get back on their feet.

The Saint Vincent de Paul Society has raised millions of dollars, with volunteers donating over ten million hours of community service to those in need. We’re proud to be a part of such an outstanding organization! What charity’s are your favorite? Because this one is one of ours.

The summer Olympics may be over for the next four years, but Rhino Shield’s long lasting exterior coating will continue to win gold for another twenty five. We are so proud of not only Rhino Shield and our long lasting products, but of all the United States Athletes who participated in this years Rio Olympic Games. They may or may not have won a medal, but to us each and every one of them are winners. We are incredibly proud of them, especially our local athletes from Georgia! These include

Here at Rhino Shield, we love the Olympics and spent two exciting weeks cheering on our athletes from across the world. From popular events like gymnastics, swimming, and volleyball to more obscure events like field hockey, fencing, and trampoline, we were there watching and supporting our American Athletes. They’ve worked hard, just like we have here at Rhino Shield. It’s incredible to watch hard work pay off, and boy has it paid off immensely! If you’re as big of a fan as we are of the Olympics, you may have seen our commercial a time or two over those two weeks. If not, head over to our Rhino Shield Georgia Facebook Page and take a look. Go Team USA, and Go Rhino Shield!

Special Olympics Send Thanks

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2016

The Special Olympics is a global organization that prides itself on being the world’s largest sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities. Each year the organization raises countless amounts of money to bring hope, strength, confidence, and success to those with intellectual disabilities. Although the organization is run on a global level, it has locally run branches as well.

This year Rhino Shield donated to Special Olympics Georgia, and became a Finish Line Sponsor for the 2016 Duck Pluck, which will be held August 12 of this year at Post Chastain Apartments on Roswell Road in Georgia . Through our donation, we were able to cover in full the expenses required for thirteen athletes to attend a weekend-long States Game competition sometime in the near future.

In the letter we received from Special Olympics Georgia, it said, “Elena, a Special Olympics athlete expressed the importance of Special Olympics Georgia by saying, ‘Without Special Olympics, I wouldn’t be as healthy or as active as I am. Special Olympics Georgia gives me the opportunity to do what I love to do- rhythmic gymnastics. I get to be around people just like me, compete with them, and become friends with them. Special Olympics Georgia has helped me to become more confident and not be afraid to try things, and it has helped make me the person I am today.'”

We are so excited and honored to donate to an organization who does so much good for their community, and makes the dreams of so many come true. We may have received a thank you from them, but we’re the ones who are thankful.
