Rhino Shield Cost Comparison

Wednesday, November 30th, 2016

Over the last several months we’ve noticed you, our customers, searching for the cost of Rhino Shield. Although it varies drastically from one home to another, we wanted to let you know that we’ve heard you and we’re here to give you the best answer possible!

There are several different products that go hand in hand with the exterior of your home. Among these are vinyl siding, paint, and coating products. Rhino Shield falls into the latter of the three. Each product varies in price point. Vinyl siding can be extremely costly, whereas paint products fall on the lower end of the spectrum. Rhino Shield’s price point lies somewhere in between.

Our average sized project usually has an interior square footage of approximately 2600 square feet. A complete exterior coating on these homes usually range from $10,000-18,000. This is subject to the design and layout of the home. Not every home is the same, which is why the cost can vary significantly. We understand that this can be a huge investment in your home’s exterior, but here at Rhino Shield, we provide our customers with the best products and customer service available. Our products offer benefits that our competitor’s products do not.

Rhino Shield has a proven product that resists fading and is safe for the environment. We even carry a 25-Year Warranty. Investing in our exterior coating prevents costly maintenance by eliminating the need to repaint. Not only does our coating make your home look refreshed, renewed, and absolutely stunning, it keeps it looking that way for years to come.

Rhino Shield Ceramic Coating is durable, flexible, and low maintenance. It resists water penetration, and can provide you and your home with insulation benefits. It can even alleviate the stress that comes from outside noise. Our coating provides fire resistance, UV blockers, mildewcides, and algeacides, aiding in the protection of you and your home.

Vinyl sidings can be extremely pricey, but Rhino Shield has managed to beat out nearly every vinyl siding estimate out there! Vinyl also has several drawbacks. It tends to dent easily, and absorb pigments, making panel replacement nearly impossible. Regular paint, while less expensive, tends to fade fast and peel easily. Rhino Shield adds value to your home, and keeps it looking fresh and new for twenty five years. We know that you won’t be disappointed with out products, so give us a call and get your estimate today!

Bob Vila Endorses Ceramic Coatings

Wednesday, November 9th, 2016

Many of us know Bob Vila from his PBS six season series “This Old House” which premiered in 1979 and won several Emmys over the years. Since then, Vila has become a staple in the home improvement and restoration industry. He’s written several books and starred in many other television shows. He also has his own self titled home improvement website that gives “tried, true, trustworthy home advice.”

Bob Vila recently endorsed ceramic coatings in his web article “Ceramic Coatings for Increased Insulation,” and we couldn’t be more thrilled. If you weren’t sure of Rhino Shield before, you will be now!

Ceramic coatings have been around for years and have several advantages over regular paints and coatings. They help reduce thermal conductivity by using ceramic micro-spheres that offer lower conductivity than the traditional paint solids. This makes them very effective in preventing unnecessary heat loss or heat gain. As a result, insulation increases and power bills decrease. And who doesn’t like saving money?!

At Rhino Shield, we provide our customers with several different coating options including our different Rhino Shield Roof Coatings. These multi-layer, rubber-like coatings add extra layers of water sealant, helping keep roofs cooler and extending their lives by several years. Ceramic roof coatings often pay for themselves, as they are thousands of dollars cheaper than replacing a roof.

Our Rhino Shield Roof Coatings help increase energy savings, which is why we were awarded the US Department of Energy’s Energy Star Rating for TWO of our fabulous roof coatings! We pride ourselves on our incredible, long lasting products here at Rhino Shield. If you’re roof is in need of something to help spruce it up or protect it from natural outdoor elements, give us a call! And head over to Bob Vila’s website for more information on ceramic coatings and all things home improvement, because both Bob and Rhino Shield love your home just as much as you do!

Another satisfied customer writes about our Rhino Shield ceramic coating finish and high quality workmanship:

“Jeff [Ecklund],

Just wanted to say two things.  One,  Harold and his crew, (Joe and Greg) were superb.  They were professional and planned to please and do a good job.  We are pleased.  Second, the sign began to fall over by the wind, so I have taken it down and put it beside the house.  I have had two people stop by and ask about the job and we have given brochures to two others.  Pleased with the job.  J.C.”

Our professional exterior painting contractors take pride in their work. Even people passing by can see the difference in a quality finish. Thank you, J.C.!

Our Georgia Coatings TV Appearance

Saturday, August 1st, 2015
Georgia Coatings’ own Jeff and Roxanne Ecklund made their appearance on WXIA’s Atlanta & Co. with Christine Pullara on July 20th.
Jeff and Roxanne explained the numerous benefits of their product, Rhino Shield ceramic coating. It’s not exterior house paint, but an ‘elastomeric’ (elasticized) ceramic ‘polymer’ that is 8 to 10 times thicker than normal house paint.
Jeff explained that Rhino Shield lasts 25 years instead of the usual 5 to 10 because it keeps sun, rain and moisture vapors from penetrating and breaking down the substance of the coating. It goes on all substrates, taking on the texture of stucco, brick, etc. to retain its natural beauty. It is elastomeric – able to bend and stretch with expansion and contraction of the home during heat and cold weather. So it doesn’t bubble, blister, crack or peel. That’s backed up with a 25 year transferrable warranty that includes labor and materials.
It’s also Low-E rated, meaning that Rhino Shield ceramic coating keeps the air between the inside and the outside of the home closer to the inside temp, which results in a drop in heating and cooling bills in many cases.
In addition to modern day residences, Georgia Coatings specializes in Historical Renovation, repairing and protecting older homes and buildings such as churches. Their teams are EPA lead paint certified to work on homes older than 1978.
Whether it’s an old or new home, they treat it with the same care. First their team masks everything off and protects the plants. Then they sand, scrape, caulk, pressure wash, repaint and replace bad wood instead of covering over it. The next step is an adhesive sealer sprayed over the entire surface. Then comes the final layer of Rhino Shield in color.
Georgia Coatings is A Rated by the Atlanta Better Business Bureau. Take advantage of their 25% off summer special or 12 months same as cash. You can always call Georgia Coatings at 678-205-4500 for more information.

When Is It Time To Repaint House Siding?

Sunday, July 12th, 2015

house-with-hardiplankWhen do you think it’s time to repaint your house siding?

The standard answer you’ll hear is “every 5 to 15 years” but that is a wide and optimistic margin. Consider some variables:

What climate do you live in? If you reside in a coastal area such as Savannah GA, your home will weather quickly from salt-sea air, semitropical heat and some violent storms with high winds. An average acrylic paint would protect your house siding for only a short few years. Repainting every three to five years is not unusual.

If you live in the mountains, ice and snow can ruin an exterior finish almost as quickly as coastal weather. Regions of north Georgia and Tennessee are also notorious for extremes of winter cold and then summer heat. This causes standard acrylic paints to continually shrink and expand. The acrylic paints don’t have the elasticity to do that without cracking.

Another factor to consider is the composition of the exterior substrate.  Log cabins must be repainted or stained every three years to seal and protect the wood. And stucco cracks easily, requiring repainting more often than brick or Hardi-plank. Stucco tends to require repainting every six years.

How old is the home? The house siding may have many coats of old paint that make it appear ‘lumpy and bumpy.’ The oldest layers have long ago lost their elasticity and adherence to the substrate. They have broken down into pieces that flake or peel off, leaving the home vulnerable to weathering and mold. If you have a home like this, the time to repaint is now!

In fact, any time you see signs of cracking, peeling or flaking, the time to repaint your house siding is now.

This time choose Rhino Shield ceramic coating for 25 years of protection. The ceramic micro-particles bond more strongly to the substrate, they go on thicker and protect better, and they have an elastomeric property that allows them to expand and contract with extremes of weather. You can’t go wrong with Rhino Shield. Call Georgia Coatings at 877-678-2054 to get more details.
