Maintaining Rhino Shield

Are you the proud owner of a Rhino Shield home? If so, you are one smart cookie. Our exterior coating is guaranteed to last for twenty five years, and that means one less worry for you for a minimum of two decades. So let that weight be lifted off your shoulders, and breathe. With some simple maintenance tasks, your home will look good and stay looking good for years to come.

Rhino Shield is designed to resist mold and mildew, however a periodic bath is recommended for double the protection against harmful elements. This will help keep your home looking fresh, bright and new year after year after year. Occasionally checking your home’s horizontal surfaces such as handrails and windowsills helps to avoid any staining caused by harmful elements left on those surfaces for an extended period of time. Tsp soap works especially well to remove dirt, springtime pollen, and other harmful elements in the air that tend to settle on horizontal surfaces. Applying soap, and rinsing with a strong nozzle or garden hose is all that is needed to remove surface debris on the exterior of your home. If you’re busy running around like the rest of us, Rhino Shield will be happy to provide this service for you. Just give us a call!

There are several other small maintenance tasks that you can perform to ensure your Rhino Shield coating is performing to the best of its ability. Periodically checking for openings in the caulk joints and around windows, doors, trim, and siding will help catch any problem before they start. It’s also important to prevent any sort of ponding of water around door frames or siding located in low areas. Keeping both your roof and gutter areas in working order is essential in maintaining your homes exterior appearance and functionality. This holds true to your shrubs, trees, and plants as well. Make sure landscaping is a minimum of one foot away from the siding and trim of your home at all times. Making sure your siding and trim are at least 6-8 inches from the ground is also important. If it’s below those 6 inches, it allows easy access for insects and water to enter your home from underneath. And as silly as it may sound, Mr. Clean cleaning squares are a perfect solution to clean up any clay stains that may have made their way to areas on your home.

These easy steps can help maintain your homes beauty for an extended amount of time. In rare cases though, small areas on the surface can open up upon movement of your home. This usually happens during the change of seasons. You may notice areas where there are separations in the caulk or sealant on your home’s exterior. If this happens, call Rhino Shield immediately for a free home inspection. There is usually an easy solution to the problem, and can be easily fixed during the inspection process.

We are here to help, and we want you to be satisfied with our product. If you ever have any questions or concerns, feel free to give us a call, and we will gladly come out and provide you with a free home inspection. We want Rhino Shield to give you the performance you expect, because after all, our quality is what we pride ourselves on!
